The professor was this short, little middle aged guy who had this amazing ability to talk candidly about sex and yet at the same time remain so factual about it.....witty ol fella he was...crack me up like mad in class all the time.....LOL
Anyway, I thought I'd put what I learned in that class to good use here.....*grins*
Title: The Penis
- Sometimes called the 'love' muscle
- The truth is, it's not a muscle as it is made up mostly of tissues
- It's also called a 'boner'
- Humans' penis do not have a baculum (or erectile bone) but animals' penis have it; it actually relies on the engorgement of blood with blood to reach its erect state ;)
- The average penis size is 6 1/4 inches (range of 5-7 inches) when erect and the circumference is 4.8 inches.
- Contrary to popular belief, females actually prefer the penis to be wider (circumference) than longer *wink wink*
- 80% of females think that size is not important while the remaining 20% thinks it is.... (so really, size is one thing, but knowing how to use it is another! *wink wink wink*
Here's some interesting info:
- Why is there such a disparity between a human penis and a gorilla's penis (6 inches vs ONE INCH!!! i nearly died from trying not to laugh when my professor said this in his usual candid manner). The answer lies in the evolution of society. Gorillas live in a small society and it's usually dominated by the alpha male. Thus, only the alpha gorilla has access to his harem and therefore only needs his ONE INCH penis to reproduce!
- As for humans, the males face a lot of competition from other males and the females get to choose whom they want to reproduce with, unlike the gorilla and his harem. Thus there was 2 ways that the males could carry on his precious genes: The amount of sperm and size of the penis....
- SOOOoooo, over generations and generations, the human species developed larger testes to produce more sperm and larger penises to ensure the success of fertilizing the egg ;)
Just for visual entertainment (and education), I added the figure of the penis to make my explanations easier....heh.

- The Glans, the Coronal ridge and the Frenulum are the most sensitive parts of the penis.
- Meatus - the opening of the penis that allows urine and semen to go through
- Corona - the end of the penis head
- Coronal Ridge - the rim of the penis head
Anyway, that's all for now for the first half of the male anatomy.....pretty cool fact about the gorilla and human penises eh??? *grins*
